What a fantastic day! The sun shone like it had never shone before, everyone was in great spirits and it was the wedding day of our son, Andrew and his fiance, Pamela. People had travelled from all corners to get to the Gailes Hotel and were treated with fabulous food and drink, great entertainment and even brilliant speeches.

Well Done … to all the people who made this day  … a very memorable day for both families.

Thanks especially to Craig Muir for taking some of the pressure off me. Between us we took over two thousand images and three hours of video!!!

The women wear a traditional head dress made from a single piece of fabric, sometime everyone gets the same fabric and it almost becomes a uniform. The head dress is called a Gele (pronounced gee_lee). Have a look at roots & rooted for tying the fabric.

Gillian had no need of cars to get her to her wedding, all she had to do was walk down the stairs. Colin & his friends made it in good time despite the Edinburgh Festival traffic at one of the city’s busiest corners.

Another scorcher, this time in August! Mel and Ray invited all their family & friends to their wedding at the Norton House last month. Everyone had a great day, helped by glorious weather and good company. The kids enjoyed the grounds and even managed to play football.

Highlight of the day was Lauryn’s poem to Caroline and Greg, with not a dry eye in the house. It was beautifully read and I could see a little bit of emotion in Greg’s eyes and also Caroline, as the proud Mum.

One minute Emma & Rik were on the steps of St Mirin’s Cathedral, the next they were in the car heading to the reception. An hour or so later and we managed to tip-toe across the wet pavement to the historic west door of Paisley Abbey.

From the moment Jo arrived at the church door, it rained with a vengeance. Thankfully, everyone saw the funny side to it and just got on with the celebration, even though some guests were very under-dressed. It was the summer after all.
